The Municipality

Located in the northernmost part of Quezon Province, the municipality of General Nakar is surrounded by various municipalities and provinces. Due to its geographic position with coordinates of 14° 35' 39.78" and 15° 13' 06.33" North and 121° 19' 49.62" and 121° 39' 11.07" East, General Nakar is politically bounded by the municipality of Dinagalan, Aurora in the north; Lamon Bay in the east; the provinces of Nueva Ecija, Bulacan, and Rizal in the west; and the municipality of Santa Maria, Laguna, Real and Infanta, Quezon in the south.
Famously known as the most expansive municipality of Quezon, the total land area of General Nakar is 163,542ha with an average width of 20km. The wides part of the municipality extends about 26km, located in the south. Meanwhile, the narrowest part of the muncipality extends about 14km and is located in the north.
General Nakar is classified as a first-class municipality divided into three clusters: the Kabilogan, Baybay, and Ilaya clusters. Kabilogan has an area of 1,723ha, the smallest cluster in the municipality, composing about 1.05% of the total land area. On the other hand, the Baybay and Ilaya clusters constitutes a total of 89.65% of the total land area. The former measures 80,847ha (49.43%), while the latter constitutes 65,774ha (40.22%).
